Would anyone be interested in...

How many people would be interested if I set up a massive Prompt!Challenge at one  [info]twxdwor [info]tw_i_candy? Using the other prompts (and there were masses of them) everyone could pick up a prompt.

The chanllenge would be that using one prompt a person would have to write multiple fictions. Two or three under the following sub-catagories;

Angst // Fluff // Smut // Crack // Mpreg // DW Xover // AU // Xover with other TV series // (any other catagories anyone can think of?)

Any pairing would be excepted... unless people want to restrict pairings? For example only use canon pairings (Tosh/Tommy, Ianto/Jack, Owen/Diane, Gwen/Owen, Gwen/Rhys, Martha/?...)

Any one interested? If so I'll set up a table and post the link soon. Please tell me what you think!

Fic: Unreachable Jack/Ianto, Jack/Owen

Title: Unreachable
Author: [info]akimbie
Rating: 15 (for mentions of sex and bad language - and angst!)
Genre: Romance/Angst
Pairing: Jack/Ianto, Owen/Ianto
Disclaimer: They're not mine! Sorry.

Summary: Can he make you any promises Ianto? Can he give you what I can? A life or maybe a future - someone who loves you as much as you love them?

"How long?"

Fic: 10 Short Stories About the Man Who Couldn't Die and His Friends

Title: 10 Short Stories About the Man Who Couldn't Die and His Friends
Pairing/Characters: Jack/Ianto, Gwen, Tosh, Martha, Rose, Lisa, Owen
Rating/Warning/Spoilers: R, for general sex and some swearing. Spoilers for "Exit Wounds" and Doctor Who: "The Stolen Earth," speculation for "Journey's End."
Summary: A series of drabbles that grew out of the iTunes fic challenge I originally did for Who. It's spiraled into an obsessive fanfiction-writing habit now.
Author's Notes: My first Torchwood writings ever, so that's exciting.
Disclaimer: The BBC owns the show and characters, and my soul.

Falling in love is easy for Gwen Cooper. )

i thought i was supposed to be accepting my emotions? well, my emotion is that i'm sorry.

Title: To The End
Summary: A crossover; a re-working of To The Last Man, featuring a character from Pat Barker's Regeneration trilogy.
Pairing: Prior/Everyone Ever
Rating: PG-13, just a couple of swearwords.
Author's Notes: Hopefully it will be sort of possible to follow this without any real knowledge of the Regeneration books, but I have no real idea. This was written for <lj user="strangeumbrella">'s birthday. ♥
Disclaimer: I own neither the books nor the TV show, and can't help wondering if joining the two together is just inviting their creators to beat me up and take my pocket money. Not mine not mine not mine!

There is no other course open to us but to fight it out. Every position must be held to the last man: there must be no retirement. With our backs to the wall and believing in the justice of our cause each one of us must fight on to the end.

natural products for baby and everyone else

In commenting on the "first aid kit" entry down below, I discovered that the company I recommended for its herbal salves (Country Comfort Herbal Savvy) has some very cool items I didn't know they made - baby creme; a baby oil made of Safflower, Hazelnut/Pecan, Olive, Jojoba, Vitamin E, Orange & Rosemary; and a baby powder that is talc and filler free.

there's even a link.

Found Seal Point Siamese Portland Oregon

Tonight on my way to the hospital I found a male Seal Point Siamese laying in the road that had been hit by a car. I took him to DoveLewis to have him cared for, unfortunately I wasn't able to confirm that I could pay the bill but as they are a non-profit I thought they would do what they could to help him and either euthinize him or fix him up and put him up for adoption.

I called a bit ago and found out that he was being made comfortable but they wouldn't do anything for him until someone claimed him to pay the bill. I don't want to see this sweet boy die because no one would pay to have him stitched up. He was "de-gloved" when he was hit, meaning his lower lip was pulled away from the bone. Nothing appeared to be broken and he needs x-rays, 175.00-250.00 and stitches to start with. I'm asking for donations to help this boy.

His profile can be seen here.

Any money that isn't used to fix up this guy will be donated directly to DoveLewis.

Also what we're fighting for: Rove’s Third Term

Al Gore never claimed that he invented the Internet. Howard Dean didn’t scream. Hillary Clinton didn’t say she was staying in the race because Barack Obama might be assassinated. And Wesley Clark didn’t impugn John McCain’s military service.

Scott McClellan, the former White House press secretary, titled his tell-all memoir “What Happened.” But a true account of modern American politics should be titled “What Didn’t Happen.” Again and again we’ve had media firestorms over supposedly revealing incidents that never actually took place.

The latest fake scandal fit the usual pattern as an awkwardly phrased remark, lifted out of context and willfully misinterpreted, exploded across the airwaves.

And Now The Good News

By Pallab Ghosh

A badger
Badgers have been blamed for the spread of TB in cattle

The government has decided against a cull of badgers in England to control TB in cattle, the BBC understands.

The policy announcement, which was due to be made next Monday, goes against the recommendations of the former Chief Scientific Adviser, Sir David King.

Last year, he told ministers that culling badgers could be effective in controlling the spread of the disease.

The decision has angered the National Farmers' Union, which claims cattle TB has already cost the industry millions.

In April a "targeted cull" of badgers was announced in Wales as part of a plan to eradicate TB in cattle. The Welsh Assembly Government's plan includes a one-off test of all cattle and a review of the compensation system.

Because we need to be aware of Republican scare tactics

This is what they're saying now, and if McCain holds up to his recent record, he'll be parroting it as well.

White House says ruling could free detainees in US

The White House said Thursday that dangerous detainees at Guantanamo Bay could end up walking Main Street U.S.A. as a result of last month's Supreme Court ruling about detainees' legal rights.

THIS is what we are fighting. This kind of deceptive, disgusting fearmongering that the GOP has relied on since September 11, 2001 while failing to bring those responsible for the attacks to justice and misusing them and insulting those who died in them as justification for repealing civil rights in the name of national security.

We are fighting to an end of speeches where every other sentence uses 9-11 as a justification for destroying everything America holds dear.

The current GOP is unable to conceive of a world without a boogie man, because they relied on it for decades--decades that saw the social and civil liberties and windfalls so carefully built up since the Great Depression destroyed to put us on the brink of another, that saw the education system go downhill and fail so miserably that some folks graduate high school reading at a 1st grade level and incapable of thinking for themselves. And they accomplished all of this through FEARMONGERING.

This is what we are fighting. A group of backwards-looking hatemongers who think that America should be AFRAID instead of RESOLVED.

Toilet cleaner

I'm an occasional flusher for the sake of saving water (I flush maybe every third time when I'm just peeing).

Because of this, the bowl gets pretty grotty and smelly pretty quickly. Is there a natural version of those blocks that hang in a cage over the bowl and give the bowl a wash and make things smell nicer when the toilet is flushed? That would probably help with the grottiness.

ETA : I scrub the toilet with a toilet brush which gets off all the gunk, but I'm looking for something to make it smell nice.

Fringe bracelet?

A lady I work with (at Bead Boutique in NC. Come & visit us!) was teaching me the fringe bracelet, or caterpillar bracelet, whatever you want to call it. I've got the first fringe done, but I don't know how to end it and she didn't get a chance to show me. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I'd buy what I think might be the pattern online, but I don't have the money to waste if it's not the correct pattern. So! If anyone knows what I'm talking about and can help me finish it off, I'd love you forever! I'd really like something to do while I'm watching the Twilight Zone Marathon.

Thanks in advance!
Rachel.

P.S- I hope this post made sense!
